LOWER GRIPPER JAW REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
The new lower gripper jaw (#PSA-251A) is made of S7 tool steel heat-treated to Rockwell C45.
- Remove old lower gripper jaw. Grind weld area free of rust, slag, and paint.
- Clamp new lower gripper jaw in place as located on weldment drawing.
- Preheat new lower gripper jaw and weld area of probe arm to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Weld with supplied 1/8" diameter Harris Super Missleweld rods. Use 90 to 110 Amps, DC reverse polarity.
- Post heat area to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, then allow slow cooling.
